Most of you will remember seeing Bambi’s extreme J’s Racing themed S2000 on Farm of Minds last year – you can read the full write-up here (LINK). As with all the best projects, work has never stopped on the car since we first featured it, and Bambi has been kind enough to send over some exclusive shots of his updated jaw-dropping ride, along with more details of the crazy high-compression F22C heart beating inside it.
The most obvious change since it last graced our pages are the eye-catching new wheels. Proof positive that the TE37 really does work on just about any car, these are 18 inch SL variants specced in 10.5J up front and 11J at the rear to fill the cavernous arches of the Type GT Total Aero bodykit. On their own, even these aren’t quite wide enough, so Bambi has fitted 5mm spacers at the front and 25mm at the rear to get the required amount of poke.
Looking back on the old CE28n’s that were fitted last time, I think it’s true to say that the fitment of these new rims is a lot better, especially with that little dose of negative camber to set it all off. A bit of tyre stretch on the 235F/265R section tyres completes the mission. Picking up on an increasingly popular trend, Bambi has chosen to order the right hand side in orange, with the left side in a more low-key gloss black. We all know wheel choice can really define the look of any car, and this latest trend allows people to present their build in two different ways, depending on which side of the car you are standing!
Under the hood things get even more interesting. Last time around we knew the car was claiming around 290bhp from a high compression 2.2 litre naturally aspirated build, and as with the rest of the car, this was handled by J’s Racing themselves.
The complete engine consists of TODA cams, lightweight pistons from an AP1 along with an air intake, larger throttle body, uprated exhaust manifold, decat pipe and signature J’s dolphin tail mufflers at the rear. A full set of lightweight pulleys from TODA and a lower 4.444 final gear further improve acceleration characteristics, especially with a very modest 1200kg to move around.
Oh and let’s not forget the choice addition of a Farm of Minds sticker on the wind deflector, no build is complete without one – order yours today HERE !
